Back in 2009 we ran our first recruitment workshop. I was full of nervous energy, so much so that when the clock struck 9.30am I just jumped straight in and started training, without doing introductions or anything. The first workshop included Social Recruiting, Advertising, Candidate Experience, basically everything! All a little crazy but hey, we were learning too?!
The following 11 years were a wonderful experience, travelling the country meeting thousands of HR professionals and in-house recruiters, hearing their challenges, and having some great discussions about how we can all recruit better.
When the lockdown hit in early 2020, I had to cancel all my workshops and pretty much every f2f event I had planned in my calendar. The following few months were a hard slog seeing the same four walls and TEAMS and Zoom screens every day. Yes, we went webinar crazy (127 webinars in a year!). I even went and built some eLearning courses which we are very proud of, but nothing filled the gap in my heart for standing in front of the room and “workshopping out” the latest recruitment issues.
This is why I am ecstatic, excited, over the moon, and, well, very happy to announce that workshops are back and we plan to be running over 80 workshops in the next 12 months.
Unlike our webinars, which are free and available for anyone to join, our workshops have a limited capacity, so we need to manage how we accept bookings - as based on past performance we expect them to be very popular. We have made the commitment that we will provide “early access” for our ATS customers to book onto these events. But we will keep all workshops open with a waiting list that anyone can register for, as long as they are a HR professional or In-House recruiter. Our team will then do our best to fit everyone in, including running a waiting list for last-minute cancellations and replacements.
locations and free in-house training.
We will be running workshops all over the UK. With a focus on major cities and Strixton, Northants (where our Head office is based). If you don’t see a workshop in your local area then let us know and we will see what we can do(firstname.lastname@example.org) .
We are also open to running free In-house training sessions. If you like the idea of training for you and your colleagues at your place of work and you have a spare meeting room and you’re interested in hosting me and a dozenHR professionals and in-house recruiters from the local area, for a morning or afternoon, then we would love to hear from you (email@example.com).
how to attract, engage and hire better talent.
We have designed a new workshop that takes many of the ideas we have shared in our webinars and brings them to the fore in a new workshop titled “How to attract, engage and hire better talent”.
We will look to roll out new workshop subjects throughout the year, so if there is a subject you would like us to engage with then just let us know (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I look forward to seeing your bright eager to learn eyes staring back at me in a venue soon!
